Have you ever wondered what it’s like in the medical field? We spent a day at a local Broward college, Emergency Education Institute, and got to see what a typical class experience looks like. Come along as we see skill stations, lectures and some action packed scenarios.
EEI, is a Department of Education (CIE) and Bureau of EMS approved school, offering EMT and Paramedic initial, refresher and continuing education courses and RN Bridge Programs. Including an A.S. in EMS Degree. At EEI, students will receive degrees and diplomas specifically designed to give them hands on skill set and experience necessary to work in their desired field. The programs offered by EEI include: Associate Degree in Nursing and Associates Degree in EMS. Diploma programs in EMS for initial training of EMT’s and Paramedics. Also CEU’s for Nursing.

The registered nursing program includes evaluating patients, learning about the systems in the body and how each medication is used to treat various medical and trauma scenarios. They interpret EKG’s as well as a variety of health concerns and the techniques needed to help patients heal quickly and efficiently.
EEI is proud to offer a Associates of Science in Nursing. Program that is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Department of Education (CIE), and is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). This program is directed towards paramedic, LPN, and other medically trained workers to become a nurse. This training program serves as the perfect bridge to obtain your Associates of Science in Nursing. Developed with the flexibility need in mind for healthcare workers. The Nursing program runs 16 months.

The paramedic program Instructors have extensive experience working in EMS and are active in their fields in the community.
We provide our students a learning experience that can be compared with other higher level Institutions.
On top of experience, our professional staff has multiple Instructor certifications from CPR, ACLS, PALS,
just to name a few. Our premier training facility in Coral Springs, is the largest and most student friendly training facility in South Florida. Our students complete their programs with the knowledge that will not only provide them an opportunity to pass the State exam and National Registry while giving them the skills to take care of patients properly and professionally. Students are afforded the opportunity to receive some of the finest Paramedic training that will help them in their EMS careers. EEI students are offered the opportunity to acquire the needed certificates that will put them on top in the hiring process. EEI also offers a paramedic review course on site.
Paramedic students go through the process of responding to a call. They are drilled on their ability to do a scene size up, determine the patients condition and treat accordingly. This can include “mega code” scenarios where the students are presented with a patient’s emergency and a description of exactly what is presenting. The medics have to evaluate, treat, medicate and intubate. They learn IV skills, airway techniques, medication determination as well as administration. Followed up with EKG interpretation and plan of treatment.
EMT students go through a scenario involving an injury. They learn how to properly hold c spine, add a collar and backboard. They are instructed on how to safely load and secure a patient to the stretcher and operate the stretcher on scene.
