This can include “mega code” scenarios where the students are presented with a patient’s emergency and a description of exactly what is presenting. The medics have to evaluate, treat, medicate and intubate. They learn IV skills, airway techniques, medication determination as well as administration. Followed up with EKG interpretation and plan of treatment.

EMT students go through a scenario involving an injury. They learn how to properly hold c spine, add a collar and backboard. They are instructed on how to safely load and secure a patient to the stretcher and operate the stretcher on scene.
